Roulette Inside Bets

Roulette Strategy – Inside and Outside Bets 20 Sep 2018 Roulette is all about the bets. It is easy to focus only on the actual wheel and the steel ball but a player must be familiar with the layout for the roulette table to understand the game. It is on the roulette table that you will place your bet and it is. Unique to the American roulette is the inside bet called a Top Line. This is commonly known among players as a Sucker bet. This happens when the player puts one chip or a stack of it on the border intersection between the rows of 1, 2, 3, and the single zero and double zero.

Just wondering, which casinos offer the highest bet on an inside number? Casinos around here might have a $2000 max bet listed, this only applies to the outside bets. If you want to bet a number, maxed out at $100. I dont know if it's still true, but Turning Stone used to be limit the inside bet to $25, while otherwise accepting a $5000 max bet outside. What's the highest bet inside allowed in Vegas? Do the high limit tables require a buy-in greater than the highest inside bet?

The most I know is $1000 straight-up on any number (pays 35-to-1). Many big casinos on the Las Vegas strip offer this. Hi rollers make what is called a $1000 'complete bet' (wagering a total of $40,000) that pays $392,000 if the main number hits.

Often, at this level, players are given loss rebate incentives in excess of 10% and roulette is single-0.

Thank you for answering. I can see why the bets seem low when I didn't even think of different bets combined being a reason I didn't know of. The limits are lower than I'd guess, but higher than being completely over protective.
I'll occasionally bet $25-50 and the dealers act like my dog died when I lose. Then those blue moons I win, they're so amazed. They act like it's a big deal either way, giving more attention than it warrants. Tipping is kind of difficult when all your chips are the same, tending to just use one to tip rather than get change.
I could use Wizard's craps strategy instead of roulette, but I like the simplicity of one bet won or done for small stakes. There is more pride lost letting it ride then losing in craps, plus I might chicken out part way through.

The maximum amount allowed to be wagered on a single bet in European roulette is based on a progressive betting model. If the casino allows a maximum bet of $1000 on a 35-to-1 straight-up, then on each 17-to-1 split connected to that straight-up, $2000 may be wagered. Each 8-to-1 corner that covers four numbers) may have $4000 wagered on it. Each 11-to-1 street that covers three numbers may have $3000 wagered on it. Each 5-to-1 six-line may have $6000 wagered on it. Each $1000 incremental bet would be represented by a marker that is used to specifically identify the player and the amount bet.
For instance, if a patron wished to place a full complete bet on 17, the player would call '17 to the maximum'. This bet would require a total of 40 chips or $40,000. To manually place the same wager, the player would need to bet:
17 to the maximum
Bet type
Number(s) bet on
Chips
Amount waged
Straight-up 17 1 $1,000
Split 14-17 2 $2,000
Split 16-17 2 $2,000
Split 17-18 2 $2,000
Split 17-20 2 $2,000
Street 16-17-18 3 $3,000
Corner 13-14-16-17 4 $4,000
Corner 14-15-17-18 4 $4,000
Corner 16-17-19-20 4 $4,000
Corner 17-18-20-21 4 $4,000
Six line 13-14-15-16-17-18 6 $6,000
Six line 16-17-18-19-20-21 6 $6,000
Total
40
$40,000

Roulette inside bets
My understanding the same max applying to a single number also applied to corners and edges was wrong, so if the max on 17 was $100, $4000 could be bet around it(by a total maniac). Evenbob mentioned people in Vegas picking up losing bets and running out the door, but 40 chips would be too many. 😂

I don't play roulette, but I've never heard of this incremental thing. If table max inside is $1k, then that's it, you can only bet up to $1k per way. Maybe it's different for different properties, I don't know.

Roulette Maximums vary by casino.
Some casinos have a progressive max, and others have an anyway to the number max.
In many casinos you can negotiate higher limits.
For example at Caesars once they get to know you, and you put up a reasonable amount of front money, they will raise the max bet to 3k straight up.
MGM will often raise to 2k straight up.

Betting at a roulette table starts after the dealer says 'Place your bets' and lasts while the ball is spinning on the wheel. The players are forbidden to place any bets once the ball starts landing, after the dealer announces 'No more bets'.

There are usually betting limits at each roulette table that are explained on the special mark near the betting grid.

At the roulette table players can make two types of bets, which differ in the range of the numbers to bet on and the payouts - these are inside and outside bets. Beating video poker. Casino jokes one liners. Let's learn more about each type of roulette bets.

Inside Roulette Bets

Inside bets are roulette bets placed inside the numbered grid of roulette table layout. These are the following bets: Virus scan is recommended for macs. Open source sound editing software.

  1. 1Straight-up bet: (quantity of numbers - 1) a bet on a single number. To make Straight-up bet the player must place the chips in the middle of any number square.
  2. 2Split bet: (quantity of numbers - 2) a two number bet. A chip is placed on the line between two adjoining numbers on the roulette table.
  3. 3Street bet: (quantity of numbers - 3) a three number bet. Chip is placed on the edge of the outside line of the numbers the player is betting on.
  4. 4Corner (or square) bet: (quantity of numbers - 4). The player places the chip on the intersection of lines between four numbers that he or she wants to bet on.
  5. 5Six line bet: (quantity of numbers - 6) a bet that covers six numbers or two lines. The chip is to be placed on the edge of an intersection of two lines.

There are also extra bets that can be found in some casinos at American roulette table, but are not common for most games:

  1. 6Trio bet: (quantity of numbers - 3) a bet that covers the numbers 0, 1, 2 or 00, 2, 3.
  2. 7Five number bet: (quantity of numbers - 5) a bet which covers five numbers - 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3.

Outside Roulette Bets

Outside bets are roulette bets that are placed outside the numbered grid on the roulette table and cover groups of numbers. The basic roulette strategy states that it is better to start the game with outside bets with higher probabilities of winning than the inside ones.

  1. 8Low bet (1 to 18): a bet that the ball will land on a number from 1 - 18.
  2. 9High bet (19 to 36): a bet that the ball will land on a number from 19 - 36.
  3. 10Red or Black bet: a bet that the winning number will be red or black.
  4. 11Even or Odd bet: a bet on an even or odd number.
  5. 6Dozen bet: a bet on either the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third (25-36) twelve numbers.
  6. 12Column bet: a bet on 12 numbers on any of the three lines on the roulette table (like the 1st line - 1-4-7-10 through to 34). The chip should be placed on the square below the last number in this line.

There are also call bets (or also called announced) used at French-style roulette table. Roulette Inside Betting Strategy

Like in any casino game, the players should follow betting etiquette rules in order to respect the casino, the dealer and the players at the same roulette table. To be polite you need to stick to these rules:

Roulette Table Bets

  • Sit at the roulette table only after you have familiarized yourself with the roulette rules of the table/casino so that you do not bother the dealer with questions
  • Place bets when it is allowed - after the dealer says 'Place your bets' and stop when he announces that no more bets can be made
  • Don't touch the wagered chips or the table layout after the dealer says 'No more bets'
  • Don't touch the chips and bets of other players
  • Let the dealer make any payouts and never sweep the winnings from the table yourself
  • Respect other players and don't smoke at the table if there are non-smokers
  • Be polite and don't yell in the casino or at the dealer
  • Don't forget to tip the dealer
